Summary

My principal research interests lie in the field of bioinformatics and cheminformatics, with a concentration on enzyme proteins and reactions. I am currently working on the prediction of metabolic pathways from metabolomic data through the effective methods to automatically extract the building block substructures of metabolites. My future research plans are to further investigate possible routes for the biosynthesis/degradation of pharmaceutical or toxic compounds. I have a particular expertise and interest in information processing and intelligence sharing on biology, while using my experience of developing the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) database resources.

Chemical bioinformatics, enzyme reactions, drug metabolism, xenobiotic degradation, phytochemical compounds, comparative genomics, microarray analysis, playing GO and drinking whiskey.
